Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his initial title for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a former number one, has had a torrid season, winning just one win at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with former mentor his previous coach.
Presently training with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set win over challenger Moutet.
It is the player's first trophy since the Rome competition and first on a hard court after that period of the previous year.
Victory also indicates the Russian has secured 21 titles at 21 different competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a competition with my children at once, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," said ranked player the champion.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.
His counter-punching strategy and regular outbursts on the tennis court had caused observers to question if his capacity to compete at the highest level was finished.
But the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to approach the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to create a final set.
Moutet rescued 4 initial break points in a close third set before the champion won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner earned the title with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
